Paxton Theatre Renovation, Buxton

Part of the Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Gardens complex, this renovation scheme has embraced accessibility.  There are now many accessible features, including public lift access to all levels, an accessible WC facility accessed from theatre level and flexible wheelchair audience locations to both the main and studio theatres.  Ian Hill access worked closely with the architect, the project team, the Local Authority and through consultation with Disabled User Groups to ensure the accessibility of the project.

The £2.5 million project has been funded by High Peak Borough Council, The Opera House, Derbyshire Economic Partnership and the Arts Council.
